Same Page Library Card - Design Reveal!

It’s been almost four years of interregional planning, dreaming, and hard work to get us to this point, but we’re almost to the finish line, folks!

We’re excited to reveal to you the design of the new Same Page library cards. A collaboration between the Marketing Committee and the Technical Implementation Committee, the project brief for the card design was for it to be modern, eye-catching, highlight the Same Page partners, and above all be accessible. The rainbow swoosh will have a UV gloss overlay, which will make it easier for patrons who are visually impaired to identify their card by touch.

The front of the card will be the same for every region, while the back of the card will be specific to each region, featuring their regional logo and website URL. The new cards will also feature a handy snap-off key tag.

One more reason to be excited to get on the Same Page!

Check out the design below, and make sure to click Read More to see all the regional card designs.

Same Page has a new logo

On behalf of the Alliance Steering Committee, we are pleased to share with you Same Page’s new logo! The logo will be featured on the Same Page library cards (along with the region’s logo), promotional materials, communications, and the BiblioCommons interface.

The Alliance engaged the marketing firm Trampoline to develop the Logo and a Brand Style Guide. These are with the Marketing Committee now and will be rolled out to the individual regions as we get closer to the launch.

We received a total of 182 responses to the all-staff marketing survey. We'd like to like to thank all staff who shared their ideas and insights with us - it was your feedback that helped inform this design, which is simple, welcoming, and accessible.

We hope that you're on the 'same page' and love this design as much as we do!

Same Page has hired Trampoline, a marketing firm, to develop our brand identity.

In addition to the survey you may or may not have contributed to a few months back, Trampoline has a few additional questions they would like to pose to library staff. As part of the branding process, we want to ensure your voice is heard and is used to shape and manifest the new visual identity. After all, our people are who will drive and champion the new brand!

All staff are encouraged to complete a short 9-question survey that should take no more than 5 minutes to fill out. You may access the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SamePageBrandInput . Please complete this survey by March 18th

We welcome any comments you have and  please be reassured your information and responses are anonymous.

We have a public-facing name!

As you’ll recall, we ran an all-staff survey for several months earlier this year to solicit suggestions for our public-facing name, tagline, and more general PR ideas. We received a total of 38 responses. A big thank you to everyone who participated – there were many innovative and creative suggestions to choose from!

From the list of staff suggestions, the Alliance Steering Committee has unanimously decided on ‘Same Page’ as the public-facing name for our consortium. We love it, and hope you do too!

Branding Survey

The One Card project is humming along on schedule with great progress being made.

The Alliance Steering Committee (made up of the Chief Librarians from the 8 participating regions) has appointed a Public Relations (PR) and Marketing Subcommittee to oversee branding, public messaging, notices, etc.  The first step for the PR and Marketing Subcommittee is to establish a public name for the consortium. One Library Card Alliance is the legal name of the consortium; however, we’d like to establish a catchier name to use in our public branding and marketing.  For example, for use on our shared library card, promotional material, public catalogue, etc. Unfortunately, Team Octopus is out of the running, as we need to keep the doors open for Halifax Public Libraries to join us in the future. RIP Team Octopus.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
Do you have an awesome suggestion for a public name? What about branding? Marketing initiative?

Please complete this short survey of five questions by April 11 to share your ideas with us: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GDT8GSB. Responses are anonymous, and you can answer as many or as few of the questions as you wish. The PR and Marketing Subcommittee will review staff suggestions and bring forward a list of recommendations to the Alliance Steering Committee.

Don’t worry! We won’t be doing this all in-house. The Culture Innovation Fund grant includes a budget for marketing, so we hope to engage a marketing consultant to help finesse our brand before we launch.

Thanks in advance for your input,

Your One Card PR and Marketing Subcommittee
(Tiffany Bartlett, Erin Comeau, and Lisa Mulak)
